Product details : NON ROTATING PISTON ROD CYLIND
The standardised C85K pneumatic cylinder, by SMC, adds an anti-rotation rod to the standard C85 range, available in double-acting or single-acting versions (spring return), across a bore range from Ø 8 mm to Ø 25 mm. Its angular accuracy reaches ±0.7° on the largest diameters, an advantage for assemblies requiring stable load orientation.
Features:
The rod of this cylinder remains rotation-guided throughout the stroke, which stabilises the orientation of a driven part without adding any supplementary guiding accessory. The series is available in a double-acting version, with controlled movement in both directions (extension and retraction), and in a single-acting spring-return version, rod retracted or rod extended depending on the model. An elastic cushion absorbs shocks at end of stroke and limits vibrations transmitted to the frame. Each configuration is available without a magnet or with a magnet integrated into the piston (CD85K), allowing, where required, position detection by an external sensor, to be mounted with a special mounting bracket. No lubrication is required for normal operation, which reduces periodic maintenance tasks.
Several mounting fixings are also available as options, including a bracket (single or double), a flange, a trunnion or a joint, as well as rod-end accessories such as a spherical rod end or a rod clevis, although these options are not developed here since the version offered remains the base configuration.

Strengths
- Anti-rotation guidance stabilises the orientation of a driven part, without any additional guiding accessory to install.
- No lubrication required reduces the frequency of routine maintenance tasks.
- The elastic cushion absorbs end-of-stroke shocks and protects the surrounding mechanical components.
- The availability of brackets, flanges, trunnions and clevises already referenced with the cylinder avoids a separate order for fixing accessories.
- The range of bores, from Ø 8 mm to Ø 25 mm, and strokes, up to 300 mm as standard, covers a wide range of sizing requirements.

Applications
The C85K series is suited to automation operations requiring a stable orientation of a moving part, for example positioning, simple guidance or a gripping operation where rod rotation must remain limited. Its oil-free operation is suitable for manufacturing workshops and assembly lines where regular maintenance remains constrained.
