Product details : MINI FREE MOUNT CYLINDER
The SMC CUJ series mini pneumatic cylinders cover seven bores, from ø4 to ø20 mm. Their compact body reduces length and volume compared with the CQS and CU cylinders, with strokes available from 4 to 50 mm depending on the model.
Features:
The CUJ series brings together free-body mini cylinders, available in seven bores from ø4 to ø20 mm. The body concentrates the wiring and pneumatic connection on one side for bores ø4 to ø10, allowing installation from four directions. Bores ø12 to ø20 have a counterbored body for mounting without screw protrusion, in side or axial version. Two position sensors can be fitted from a stroke of 4 mm on the small bores and 5 mm on bores ø12 to ø20. Seal replacement is carried out by removing the rod cover on bores ø4 to ø10, or the retaining ring on bores ø12 to ø20. A cleanroom-compatible version, with vacuum or exhaust port, completes the range except for bore ø4. Short-pitch mounting remains possible to bring several cylinders closer together, and lowering the centre of gravity makes use with an external guide easier.
The designation distinguishes versions without magnet, not detectable by a magnetic sensor, from versions with integrated magnet, identified by the CDUJ prefix and detectable. The body is available in side mounting, marked by the letter B, or axial mounting, marked by the letter S (only on models of ø12 mm and above). After the piston diameter and the stroke expressed in millimetres, the letter D indicates double-acting and the letter S single-acting with spring return. The presence of an M at the end of the reference indicates a male threaded piston rod; if it is absent, the rod bore remains female tapped, except on bore ø4 which does not offer threading.

Applications
The mini pneumatic cylinders are integrated into gripping, positioning and locking mechanisms where available space is limited. Their multi-directional mounting and compact footprint are suited to assembly machines, packaging lines and light handling equipment.
Bores ø12 to ø20, fitted with a rubber bumper, are suitable for applications requiring end-of-stroke cushioning, particularly on inspection stations or automated sorting systems. Short-pitch mounting also makes it possible to bring several cylinders close together on the same support, a configuration useful for multi-point gripping systems.
